Shoulds vs. Wants
I should be working on my column, or that boat story. I have research for a couple of new projects to work on. I have several ad contacts to follow-up on. I have the cover story for the next issue that needs a ton of footwork. I'm behind on invoicing.
Dust bunnies are having an orgy under my kitchen table. The post summer camp & vacation laundry is piled high. Old food is crowding my 'fridge. Weeds & grass have taken control of my flower bed. There are 12 messages blinking on my answering machine.
But the new Harry Potter just arrived on my doorstep.

fern got her copy this morning at 6 minutes after midnight. I told her, if I pay, I get to read it first.
She's past page 200—I've lost track—and I'm 3/5 the way through my second reading of Half-Blood Prince
Ben went after his copy last night at midnight as well. He was finished with it by 130 pm so I took it to Isaac to read in the hospital. I'm always the last one to get it in the house.

Correction: when I wrote my above comment Fern was on page 360, at bedtime she finished through pages 501.
HP was the only thing that could drag my spouse away from his fantasy baseball teams. He got the book Sat 11:30 am (couldn't get NEAR the bookstore Fri night) and read all weekend - except for an outing to the Nationals game yesterday - until finished. (If we hadn't already had the tix he would have just kept reading.) He finished around 8 pm yesterday.
I need a house elf... one with a decent personality.. then at least some of the should's can be taken care of and I can spend some more time on my want's list! :-)
Dust Bunnies!! You have bunnies too?? I like to come running out with dust on my face when we have company.
