I am fortunate to usually be home when my kids are getting ready for school and when they come home. However, I am starting to work more now that school is in session. Earlier this week I had an early morning, leaving my 13 year old son to get himself off to 8th grade. When I returned, I found this note, left in the mess of the dining room table.

Mom I left for school
love you a lot and I'm hugging
you in my brain
love your son

Isn't that just adorable?

Lest you think he is just a softie, he has been studying up for us on surviving a zombie attack. I am randomly getting advice such as this:

Mom, if there is ever a class 1A zombie attack, the best thing to do is go upstairs and then destroy the stairs behind you.
Also acid works.

I told him my plan was to stick with him if such a calamity occurred.

Ah the mind of a teenager is a wonderful thing to behold isn't it. Best beheld (is that a word?) at a distance to be sure.

I agree with you. Stick with the kid. You'd never outrun him anyway, and they have all the secrets for Zombie fighting.

Ha! When Cory was a bit older than Mik he and his friends wrote a whole play called "Zombies in a Presbyterian Church". It was hysterical. Remind me to show it to you sometime.

I just keep my cricket bat nearby! But as a backup, I plan on playing Thriller and then running while they do the choreographed bit.

Let's keep that boy.

So, ALL of the teens know of this Zombie attack?! I thought it was just my son....
I plan to stick with my son as well, but in the event he outruns me, I am going to Markec's plan-Thriller should slow them down enough. BTW--loved the note you found when you returned home.
