So does anyone have any frugal tips for the holiday? What are some inexpensive stocking stuffers that won't just get thrown away? Are you cutting back anywhere?

What does CG stand for? Originally it was Construction Girl based on my fun job experience as a technical writer for a general contractor and the work I was able to do on the job sites. But now it could be a host of other things: for my new career as a yoga teacher it could be Chataranga Goals, or maybe Cosmic Gypsy, or Curious Girl, Candid Gossip, Creative Guide, Comical Goober, Cheshire Goddess, Corona Guzzler, Certain Grabber...

I don't know if this qualifies as a frugal tip, but here it is:
for teachers (if you still do teacher gifts) - I know from my teacher friends that they get WAY too many knick-knacks. I used to give bookstore or office-supply store gift cards. You can give as little as $10, or team up with other parents to give a larger one. They're always appreciated.
hmmm, eye pillows, bath salts and bracelets are inexpensive and "keepers"... now where could I find some of those :)
