The next article I'm writing for Taste of the Bay is on a cook's essential tools and essential pantry items.

What couldn't you do without in the kitchen?
What do you always keep in the pantry?
(I mean besides delivery phone numbers.)

We went grocery shopping Saturday, spent $90, and the only non-food item was toilet paper. My daughter got mad because, "How can you go grocery shopping and not buy anything to eat?". We had, apparently, forgotten the mac-n-cheese.

I printed out the directions to the grocery store for her. Knock yourself out, kid.

Could not do without a good non-stick skillet and my non-stick electric griddle.
Pantry always has peanut butter.
